The Elephant Lake Hotel St Lucia is located on the shores of the St Lucia Estuary in the town of St Lucia, Kwa Zulu Natal, within the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, South Africa’s first World Heritage Site. St Lucia is 25km from the main N2 route between Durban and Swaziland, 75 km South from Hluhluwe town and 80 km North of Richards Bay.

With its lakes, lagoons, freshwater swamps and grasslands, St. Lucia supports more species of animal than the better known parks and deltas in Southern Africa.

Directions

Directions from Johannesburg 1. Take the N2 road to Witbank 2. Turn off to Ogies, pass through Bethal, Ermelo, Piet Retief, Pongola 3. Continue south along the N2 past Mkuze and Hluhluwe 4. Take the turn-off left to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618) - as you approach Mtubatuba, turn left towards St Lucia (approximately 25km) Directions from Durban 1. Take the N2 North (you have the option of the Toll road or the alternate route via Stanger) 2. 40 kilometers after the turn-off to Richards Bay, turn right towards Mtubatuba 3. As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left and then right (R618) to St Lucia 4. When you arrive in the greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, pass over the bridges. Follow the road till you reach the traffic circle at the entrance to St. Lucia Residential Area 5. Turn Right into McKenzie Street and Elephant Lake Hotel St. Lucia is on the corner of McKenzie & Mullet Streets Distances to 1. Richards Bay - 80km (South) 2. Empangeni - 95km (South) 3.
