Shawn and Jackie Thompson spent eleven years in Seychelles and Mauritius and Villa Coco has a distinct island flavour to it. Simple in design, cool and relaxing, Villa Coco is the ideal spot for businessmen yet can also offer the tourist a central location - in Durban North - to access the many attractions in the surrounding areas.

Jackie draws on her island background to prepare healthy, but tasty breakfasts. She can also be persuaded to conjure up exotic dishes such as chicken and prawn curry or grilled fish “creole style” for special occasions.

Shawn is a keen fisherman and when not away on business, will gladly take guests out for a quick fishing excursion on his boat, aptly named, “Stress Killer”. He is also an avid rugby fan and die-hard Sharks supporter. Its probably the real reason why 43 Kelvin Place was chosen as the location for Villa Coco Guesthouse – the roar of the Kings Park faithful can almost be heard on big occasions.

Situation

Villa Coco Guesthouse is centrally located in Durban North, minutes from the trendy Broadway area. It has good access to all highways, making this location ideal for businessmen and tourists alike.

Supermarkets, shops and restaurants are minutes away, and with Durban North nestled between Durban Central and Umhlanga, other venues such as Wilson Wharf in Durban Harbour or Gateway on Umhlanga Ridge are within easy striking distance.
For swimming, Suncoast beach is 10 mins away and for fishing, Virginia is just down the hill.

Various Options

The main unit has two rooms (Coco Rouge and Coco Vert) , which can be rented separately or as a double room in the case of a family.
The second unit is a separate, single room cottage (Coco Rouge).
Secure off street parking is available for three cars and all the rooms have separate entrances.

Coco Rouge

A tastefully furnished room with massive Bali bed, TV and bar fridge.
The outside deck allows for privacy and enjoying a sundowner with sea views.
There is a common area with gas barbeque should guests want to take it easy at home rather than dine out. A modern open plan bathroom with shower and separate bath complete the picture.
The room is airconditioned.

Coco Vert

A slightly smaller room with two single beds, ideal for the cost conscious business person, or for the kids if taken in conjunction with Coco der Mer. It has its own shower and toilet.
The room has a fan.

Coco de Mer 

Rates

Bookings for longer than 4 nights attract a discount.
Children between the ages of 3 and 12 pay R 100, with children under 3 free.
