Banghoek Lodge is located in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal’s Elephant Coast, one of South Africa’s conservational gems, offering a diverse collection of indigenous fauna and flora, traditional Zulu culture and wildlife in their natural habitat, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary!

Only a few minutes drive off the N2 highway, between Hluhluwe and Mkuze makes Banghoek Lodge the perfect spot to explore the wonders of the Zulu Kingdom, and an excellent stop over en route north to Mozambique, Swaziland and Mpumalanga’s Kruger National Park and south en route to Durban.

Many of South-Africa’s main attractions are in close proximity, such as the well known Hluhluwe-Imfolozi and Mkuze Game Reserves and World Heritage Site, St.Lucia Estuary. You can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as game drives, excellent bird watching, boat cruises, inland tiger fishing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. Banghoek Lodge's friendly staff will make your experience complete, assisting with the planning of your activities while staying with us.

The lodge offers comfortable accommodation in, en-suite chalets and self catering cabins, easily accommodating small and large tour groups. The Lodge is ideally suited for corporate escapes with our fully equipped conference venues, and is also the perfect setting for your dream wedding.

Banghoek Lodge offers true South African hospitality, maintaining the personal touch to ensure that each of our guests has a memorable stay, a place to reconnect with nature, loved ones and oneself.

International author Daphne Rooke called Banghoek home before emigrating to Australia with her Australian husband, and retired to England after his death. She still lives in England today at the age of 91. Her return visit to Banghoek Lodge years later in 2001 invoked many memories.
