In the sun-splashed Zulu Kingdom of South Africa, there is a piece of bush where you don't "rush to relax" or "try to chill out"; these things happen naturally here, and they have been doing so since time immemorial. Umziki (Zulu for reedbuck) Pan offers the visitor intimate and comfortable accommodation on a family-owned game farm nestled between the hamlet of Hluhluwe and the western shores of False Bay - part of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. It can serve as a base for guests to explore most of Zululand in the time available to them.
Umziki Pan is a Natural Heritage Site. Accommodation Accommodation consists of either rondavels (African-style, round, thatched roof huts) or a Guesthouse.
There are 3 rondavels - 2 of which have a kitchenette, en-suite bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms. Please specify which rondavel you would prefer, as we have two with double beds, and one with a double bed, single bed, and bunk-bed. At the pool area is a large thatched lapa with a braai, fridges and all conveniences required for a long sunny day at the swimming pool or a star-filled night around the fire. A small camping area with hot water ablution is available for those inclined. Braai (barbeque) facilities and firewood are available. The Guesthouse has an open-plan kitchen with a lounge and dining room. There are four separate bedrooms (one has twin beds, two have double beds and one sleeps 4 people), and two separate bathrooms (with showers). All the units are serviced twice daily.
