Many of the original features remain: wooden floors, high ceilings and fireplace, which help create a home from home atmosphere. We are ideally situated in the Morningside area, directly opposite the Windermere shopping centre which has an internet caf‚, shops such as Checkers, Milady s, Clicks and also ABSA, Standard Bank and NBS branches. The Musgrave shopping centre and CBD are only 5 minutes away. We are 2km from the main beaches, Sun Coast Casino and even closer to Greyville Racecourse, Durban Country Club and Royal Durban golf courses. Kings Park (ABSA Stadium) and Kingsmead Cricket Ground can also be reached in a few minutes by car. Florida Road Sommersby is sandwiched between Florida and Windermere Road, which provide a whole host of popular bars, restaurants and shops, literally only a short walk away. Sommersby Bed & Breakfast is a relaxed place to stay with the action you want on your doorstep. Breakfast is included in the price and can be a continental, health or full English - whichever you prefer. Breakfast is served Monday - Friday 7am-9am and Saturday-Sunday 8am -10am. Breakfast can be served either in the breakfast room or on the patio if you wish and the weather permits. Airport transfers can be arranged if details are provided at the time of booking. An additional charge would be charged for this service. We are approximately 20 minutes from the airport. Patio Laundry service is available and can usually be done on the same day if given enough notice. Again, an additional charge would apply for this service. Alternatively, a launderette is located in the shopping centre opposite. The bed and breakfast is fully walled and has electric fencing along the boundary. Secure off street parking is available. Each guest is given a remote with full access to the bed and breakfast and can come and go as they please. For additional security there is a panic button on the remote that can be used within close proximity to the bed & breakfast should it be required. Do not worry - it has not been needed to date!

Follow the signs for the R102 City Centre (Umgeni Road) The road will bear to the right and will widen into many lanes. Get into the far right lane. 5.1 Robot. Go straight over. 5.3 Robot. Major Junction with Goble Road. Go straight over. 5.8 Robot. Get into the filter lane to turn right at the robot into Innes Road.Carry on up the hill.You will see a Shell garage in front of you.At e robot in front of the garage, turn left onto Windermere Road. 7.0 Robot. Turn right in front of the Windermere Shopping Centre which has a restaurant called Zacks at the bottom and a sign for Checkers higher up.Then IMMEDIATELY left into Ninth Avenue North.Carry on past the car park on your left and take the first left onto Claribel Road.Go down the one way road and Sommersby Bed & Breakfast is just after the road on the right - Eight Avenue Welcome to Sommersby Bed & Breakfast.
