Enjoy style and elegance at eMakhosini, the former home of the French Consul-General in Durban. Located in the quiet suburb of Morningside, this four-star boutique hotel has 23 en-suite rooms, including a standard suite and the charming Honeymoon suite. In keeping with its history, eMakhosini is decorated in a French colonial style, with gilt-edged furnishings interspersed with African images.

eMakhosini boasts three conference centres. The Ndaba Room is the centre of three rooms, L-shaped with an entrance from the lounge and a balcony providing seclusion and privacy.

The Jama Room, also with a balcony, is an executive boardroom ideal for small business meetings. The rectangular Phungza Room has an entrance from the pool terrace and opens into the Ndaba and Jama Rooms to become one massive conference room - ideal for seminars.

The rooms seat a maximum of 45, 35 and 64 respectively with various seating styles to accommodate delegates. The conference package includes meals, pastries, stationery, the use of a private meeting room with an ISDN line and equipment such as an overhead projector; screen; flipchart; whiteboard; television; video-cam recorder and optional extras such as a data projector; roving and lapel microphones and a public address system.

 Situated in the quiet suburb of upper Morningside, Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa, it is in close proximity to all major business and shopping centers. We are ideally located for the Golfer, 2 km. from the Golf course, 5 km. from the Main Beach at the Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World and only 7 km. away from the known Ushaka Marine World. A shuttle service will take you to the airport and various destinations in and around Durban. Airline reservations and vehicle hire, baby sitting‚ valet and laundry services and wake up calls are some of the many services offered at eMakhosini.

Directions

From Riverside, Durban As you leave Riverside, turn left into NMR Avenue, continue along NMR till you get to the second set of traffic lights. Turn right into Goble Road. Continue until you get to the third set of traffic lights the road being Windermere. Turn right into Windermere Road and carry along Windermere until the road curves to the left and into Tremation Drive, continue along this road until you see Morningside Primary School on your left, you then turn left into Sir Arthur Road, then immediately right into Lumsden Crescent. We are No. 3. From the N3 Coming in from PMB, you will be on the N3 as you enter Durban City Boundary; you will see a Welcome to Durban road sign on your left. You will now be on the road that will bring you directly into the Berea area of Durban. Take the first left hand off ramp after the tollgate bridge Exit2. You will now going down on the Berea Road, north. At the forth intersection, turn right left into Essenwood Road. Essenwood road will join Montpelier Road. Turn right into North Ridge Road. Once on the North Ridge Road, you will see an Engen Road garage on your left. Turn right at the second road, into Lumsden Crescent, you are looking for No.3. From Pietermaritzburg Coming in from PMB, you will be on the N3 as you enter Durban City Boundary; you will see a Welcome to Durban road sign on your left. You will now be on the road that will bring you directly into the Berea area of Durban. Take the first left hand off ramp after the tollgate bridge Exit2. You will now going down on the Berea Road, north. At the forth intersection, turn right left into Essenwood Road. Essenwood Road will join Montpelier Road. Turn right into North Ridge Road. Once on the North Ridge Road, you will see an Engen Road garage on your left. Turn right at the second road, into Lumsden Crescent, you are looking for No.3. From Richards Bay Coming from Richards Bay, you will be on the N3 (Outer Ring Road). You eneter the Durban City Boundary, you will see a Welcome to Durban Road sign on your left. You will now be on the road that will bring you directly into the Berea area of Durban. Take the left hand off ramp after the tollgate bridge, exit 2, Berea Riad, North. Turn left on the Ridge Road drive straight pass Pverport city. At the end of Ridge Road, turn left on to North Ridge Road, drive straight thought till you see and Engen garage on your left. Pass the garage; take the first right turn that is Lumsden Crescent. We will be on the right hand side, No.3.
