The promenade of Umhlanga is approximately 5 km long and is special attraction for joggers and walkers alike. Cathy's place has been established for ten years, and is frequented by families and businessmen.Transfers to and from the airport , together with various day trips can be arranged with reputable local companies as can car hire. DirectionsFrom Durban International Airport Leaving Durban International Airport, once you have exited from the parking area, follow the road until you reach a set of traffic lights. There is a signpost here which says "N2 Stanger / N3 Pietermaritzburg / M4 Durban". Turn right at these lights and keep on the left hand side of the road as you must take the first off-ramp signposted N2 Stanger. You must NOT go into Durban so do not follow the signs for Durban City once you reach the outskirts of the airport. The freeway will turn inland and in fact it does circle Durban, as it is the outer ring road. Keep on this road for approximately 31 kms until you reach the off-ramp signposted "Umhlanga Rocks / Mount Edgecombe". Take this off-ramp and keep to the right hand side of the road, as you will be turning right at the traffic lights at the end of the off-ramp. Once on this road, pass the "Gateway" turn-off, go under the Millenium Bridge and take the left turnoff marked "Umhlanga Rocks Drive". You will travel just over 0.5 km before reaching this turn-off. When you reach the T-junction at the top of the road, turn left into Umhlanga Rocks Drive. You will go past a "McDonalds" a "Shell garage", NMI and the Umhlanga Rocks Hospital on your left hand side. You will reach the third traffic circle shortly after passing the hospital. Turn right at this circle. You will travel now down a steep hill towards the sea. At the third set of traffic lights, turn right into "Ridge Road". At this set of lights you will have "Steers" diagonally opposite you and once you turn right into Ridge Rd, you will have motor car showrooms on your left hand side and the "Buxtons Village Centre" on your right. At the end of this block, there is a stop street with the "Umhlanga Rocks Veterinary Clinic" diagonally opposite you. Turn right here into Stanley Grace Crescent, which is clearly signposted. The road curves to the left and we are the sixth house on the left hand side, number 18. There is a sign on the wall that says "Cathy's Place", so you can't miss us! I hope these directions will ensure that you reach us safely and we look forward to meeting you. From Durban City Centre Travelling from Durban City Centre, head out north along the M4 highway. You will travel for about 16 kms along the M4 north, until you reach the "Umhlanga Rocks" turn off. Take this turn-off and turn right at the set of traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Ridge Rd. At the lights you will have "Steers" diagonally opposite you. Once you have turned right into Ridge Rd, you will have motor car showrooms on the left and the "Buxtons Village Shopping Centre" on your right hand side.
