The St Lucia Estuary and Cape Vidal (Isimangaliso) were classified as World Heritage site in 1999 and since then has become one of the best places on the continent to view Africa’s wildlife as it was supposed to be seen; unaltered and unharmed. Buya Futhi Bed and Breakfast is a unique stone building built in the 1980’s when there was a brick shortage in Kwa-Zulu Natal. It is situated on the furthest street from the hustle and bustle of St Lucia’s main street, but is still just a seven (7) minute walk away from the restaurants and boutiques which line it. DirectionsDirections to Buya Futhi Bed and Breakfast From Johannesburg: Take the N2 road to Witbank. Turn off towards Ogies, pass through Bethal, Ermelo, Piet Retief, Pongola and continue south along the N2, past Mkuze and Hluhluwe. Take the left turn off towards Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618). Follow this road until the first turn left (R618) to St. Lucia (c. 27 km). From Durban: Take the N2 north -- you have the option of the toll road or the alternate route via Stanger. 40 kilometers after the turn off to Richard’s Bay, Take the right turn off to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618). As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left at the stop street, then second right (R618) to St Lucia (c. 27 km). When you arrive in the greater St. Lucia Wetland Park: Pass over the bridge. Follow the road till you reach the traffic circle. Turn left in McKenzie Street (this is the main street of St Lucia) And then turn right onto Beach road. Follow this road until you reach the second turn off to the right, onto Kingfisher road. Your first left turn will be Garrick Road. This road leads into Sandpiper Street.
