St Annes Guest House, situated on the Berea in Durban (Kwazulu Natal, South Africa)

Situated on 'the Ridge', St Annes offers the discerning guest or business executive, colonial elegance and luxury in an exclusive, secluded setting.

Built in 1885, by master craftsmen from England, as a wedding gift to a member of the Butcher family, St Annes has endured and outlived the changes history has dealt her. Used mainly as a residential home over the years, St Annes also functioned as a maternity home for a short period of time.

Accommodation

Baas Suite
This intimate room offering double accomodation derives it's name from the cane-cutters of our colonial past. The richly textured natural weave has been incorporated throughout the room to create a restful ambience. 

Ganesh Suite
This noble suite decorated in green and gold offers a four poster double bed in comfortable surroundings. The name Ganesh is derived from the religious Hindi name for elephant and this theme is explored within the room.

Phal Beea Suite
This twin-bedded room has a hint of rustic which in seen in the use of wrought iron and stressed wood. The subtle theme of fruit and seed is observed throughout the suite and is offset by the crisp white bed linen.

Gora Suite
A soothing suite washed in shades of white, offers a refreshing experience with double accomodation. The subtle introduction of gold has been influenced by the ornate embellishments and embroidery found on garments worn by Maharajas.

Mahal Suite
Inspired by the opulence of palaces, the striking colours, decor and furnishings of this magnificant suite are sheer elegance and luxury. The "his & her" bathrooms offer individual pampering and feature a quaint fireplace which suggests a colonial era long past.
