Location: South Africa » Kwazulu Natal » North Coast » Dolphin Coast » UmhlaliNdlondlo Reptile ParkNdlondlo Reptile ParkDescriptionWe boast a variety of reptiles, large and small, venomous and harmless and are passionate about education; we offer a snake identification course which includes first aid treatment for snake bites.
The park has a tea garden aptly named the tree house due to its scenic, tranquil setting with kiddies amenities and now available as a party venue.
Although the Ndlondlo Reptile Park only opened to the Public in December of 2007, owner Neville Wolmarans has been involved with reptiles for over 35years. Previously of Croc Valley, his passion is evident in every aspect of the Parks unique design. The Park itself is in Phase one, which already boasts 2 underground snake enclosures containing over 15 different species of indigenous snakes (including the infamous black and green mamba) and a python tank, home to a reticulated python and a pair of anaconda’s.
Our collection of Reptiles include:
- Rock monitors
- Nile monitors
- Bearded Dragons
- Various species of tortoises
- Iguana’s
- A chameleon enclosure
- Various species of lizards
- and a few freaky frogs!
What makes us really different though, is our hands on and personal approach. With guided tours that can be structured around the relevant age and curriculum (from pre-primary to high school) to maximize the learning experience whilst still keeping it interesting, and hands on demonstrations giving the children a chance to interact with the reptiles.
FUN FOR THE FAMILY: Our aim is really to educate and about the dangers and beauty of these creatures whilst eradicating the myths at the same time. The children will leave knowing the difference between venomous and non, between a spotted bush snake and a green mamba, and how to react in a dangerous situation with a snake as well as (and more importantly) how to avoid a dangerous encounter.
For the older children with a longer attention span, we go into the different types of venom and the first aid involved in treating such bites.
The Park also has a Tea Garden area, where parents and teachers are welcome to relax under the trees enjoying our large variety of bird and tree life, whilst the tour is being presented.
Besides the reptile park, our team also does beach excursions and cultural tours and are equipped to do team building and leadership courses to suit any age group. These are done in a Survivor, Fear Factor or Paintball theme.
For the older and braver we also present one of Durban’s finest PAINTBALL courses, for more information follow this link: BUNDU PAINTBALL
Come join us for a truly unique nature experience! With a Curio Shop and tea garden, there’s something for every member of the family. We look forward to seeing you soon...
